About

About Carton Packaging

At Carton Packaging 2020, we combine over 60 years of industry expertise. Our founders, Dave Bevans and Frank Barrett, joined forces in March 2015 to create a packaging company that focuses on providing an efficient service.

What started as a small factory in Tottenham has now grown into a thriving enterprise. Our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction has been the driving force behind our success. Our journey continues to our 8500-square-foot facility in Ongar, Essex with Dave and Jack Bevans now working together as partners to provide innovative, eco-friendly bespoke packaging solutions to businesses of all sizes. We believe in minimizing waste, maximizing efficiency and delivering products that protect both your goods and the environment.

Small to Medium Runs: While we handle high quantities if needed, our forte lies in small to medium-sized production runs. Quality remains our priority.

Sustainability: We’re committed to eco-friendly practices. Our materials are recyclable and we contribute to a greener future.

Local Reach: Serving Essex, Hertfordshire, and London, we’re your local packaging partner.

We also offer a nationwide delivery service.

BOX STYLES

Corrugated board comes in a wide variety of thicknesses and strengths offering a wide range of applications. For example there is “E” flute which is approx 1.5mm thick and is excellent for small die cut boxes. There is single wall board (Generally “B” flute which is around 3mm thick and offers some protection to goods being bulk-shipped. Then there is double wall board (Generally “BC” flute) which is much stronger than single wall board and gives very good protection particularly good stacking strength. All of the above specs can also be supplied in different paper thicknesses on either the inner or outer liners.

0200

An open top box with flaps meeting at the base, which need to be sealed. Often linked with the 0422 lid and used for storage.

0203

Similar to the 0201 but the flaps fully cover the base and top. This gives added strength to the case especially if taped in certain ways.

0410

Similar to 0409 (not featured) but with the side flaps removed from the extended end panel. This reduces the bulk up of material in the corners. Ideal design for flat packs.

0201

The most common corrugated case. Outer flaps meet at the top and bottom and require sealing. It will not require any tooling unless it needs modification for specialist erecting machines. This is the most economical way to pack most products. The side seam is usually glued but can be stitched. Stacks well.

0301

Tray and lid. Used for shallow products and an economical way to purchase this format as it can be made without tooling. However, the corners of the lid and tray would need to be sealed. A neater solution would be the 0422, particularly if the volume required is significant.

0411

An economical way to wrap flat products, typically used in the flat pack furniture market.

0422

Lid for 0200 or used as a tray. This will require a tool to make but is then easily erected without sealing.

0310

A combination pack of 0501 sleeve with 0452 top and bottom caps (not featured). Generally used for pallet packs or with automated packing systems. Requires stitching or gluing of the caps.

0202

Similar to 0201 but with the outer flaps overlapping by a specified amount. Ideal for cases where extra strength and security are needed. Excellent for use with polypropylene strapping as the method of securing.

0427

Provides great downward strength, as the walls are three pieces of board. It requires no sealing and is an excellent way to present your product as it lends itself to printing. Can also be adapted for point of sale use.

0713

Glued crash lock base with tuck in lid. Pre glued base flaps for snap up assembly, thus eliminating the need for sealing the bottom flaps.

0933

Assembled division pieces specified by cell number. Used to separate fragile products and add compression strength to the pack.

0509

Postal pack for books or large catalogues. Ideal for small runs as no set up charge but would require sealing.

RTF

Postal pack similar uses to the 0509 but would require a tool. This pack is more presentable as would not require sealing and can be adapted to your requirements.

0759

Similar to 0427 and 0471 but lacks the same downward strength. A fast and easy to assemble solution making it popular for manual packing lines.

0471

Similar in most ways to the 0427 but has a better utilisation of board so can be more cost effective over larger volumes.

0914

Internal fitting. Rectangular or square in cross section with a length as required. Generally used as an infill within the pack.

0901

Layer pad. Sheet of material used to divide layers of product within the pack.
